FXDR 128 Shop Build | Harley-Heaven Dandenong

The challenge was straightforward enough: make the quickest Harley-Davidson FXDR on the market.

The man: Harley-Heaven Dandenong’s Wayne Hogan. Our mild-mannered service manager certainly got the bit between his teeth for this project. It was all or nothing.

“The FXDR is already the most powerful Harley-Davidson production bike on the market, so to boost the horsepower on this powerhouse we reckon we would produce a pretty exciting machine,” says Wayne, a confident smirk on his face.

Wayne sat down and wrote his shopping list. A bit like a wish list for Santa Claus with all the best bits he could think of.

“We started with Woods Knight Prowler camshafts and lifters with 600 thou’ lift. Then we chose Screamin’ Eagle adjustable pushrods with an S&S 128 barrel and piston combination.

“Next the heads were CNC ported with big valves and valve springs changed.

“Finally we added the Screamin’ Eagle 64mm throttle body matched with the new extreme breather out of Harley-Davidson.”

“It is claimed these cams can make 160 horsepower, but we’ll see what they can really make when we get them on our dyno here at Harley-Heaven.”

Did Santa know exactly what he was getting involved in? We’ll soon see who’s naughty or nice when the quickest Harley-Davidson ever produced out of Harley-Heaven hits the road.

“When it was all together, we took it down to Jamie on the dyno to see what we had and the results were encouraging to say the least.”

When the big boy was up on the dyno, the guys found they had a whopping 70% increase in power and a very useful 25% increase in torque.

“We still have some tweeks to make,” says Wayne, “but you can be sure this FXDR will get anyone’s pulse racing.”

Come down to Harley-Heaven Dandenong and see the beast for yourself. When we’re done, one very lucky person will be riding it home.
